IMPLEMENTING SOLUTIONS TO CONNECT LABOR SUPPLY AND DEMAND

According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in Hanoi, in the first months of 2024, the department has closely monitored the labor market and timely grasped the employment situation after the Lunar New Year holiday in local businesses and especially in industrial zones to attract workers back to work and support businesses in addressing local labor shortages to meet their production and business needs.

In the time leading up to, during, and after the Lunar New Year, the labor relationship situation in the city remained stable, with no strikes or collective work stoppages occurring.

Currently, businesses in the city have returned to normal operations and actively recruited additional workers.

To stabilize and develop the labor market in the city, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in Hanoi will implement a comprehensive range of measures, with a focus on strengthening labor supply and demand connections.

At the same time, the department will review and assess labor demand in each industry and field, develop labor skills, and promptly provide labor to meet market demand.

This year, the city plans to organize 230 job trading sessions, including daily, online, specialized, mobile, and recruitment sessions to hire 20,000 workers through job trading sessions.

The department will also enhance labor market connections with other localities. Mr. Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center, said that through job trading sessions connecting provinces and cities, and sharing data among employment service centers, local labor markets will be brought closer together. This will support businesses in having access to multiple sources of labor, while also giving workers more opportunities to find suitable employment.

According to Mr. Thanh, the transportation infrastructure and means of transportation between localities are currently very favorable, and businesses also offer good welfare benefits to attract and retain workers. These factors allow workers to work in multiple locations.
