Annual Vietnam Business Forum kicks off

On the morning of March 19th, in Hanoi, the annual Vietnam Business Forum and the meeting with the FDI business community will officially take place with the participation of the Prime Minister.

The Vietnam Business Forum and FDI Business Community Meeting is an annual program organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with the World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Vietnam Business Forum Alliance.

With the theme “FDI Businesses Leading Green Growth,” the forum will be opened with speeches by Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Darryl James Dong – Senior Representative of the International Finance Corporation, and the two Forum Co-Chairs Pham Tan Cong and Nittin Kapoor.

The annual Vietnam Business Forum will take place in Hanoi on the morning of March 19th.

At the forum, delegates will focus on discussing three parts including:

Part 1: The role of FDI in the new context. In this part, besides assessing the role of FDI in the new context and policy consultations with the participation of representatives from the UK Business Association in Vietnam, the US Business Association, the Korean Business Association, the Japanese Business Association, etc., the delegates will provide recommendations to improve the investment and business environment in Vietnam.

Part 2: Corporate Responsibility of FDI Businesses in Implementing Green Growth Strategy. Under this theme, delegates will discuss issues related to developing human resources associated with green growth, the implementation of ESG at businesses in the context of promoting sustainable economic activities, and the business plans for implementing green growth and ESG.

Part 3: Policy responses from ministries and sectors with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Science and Technology.

It is expected that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend and direct the forum.
