Recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications has inspected and monitored the postal service activities of licensed postal businesses in Hanoi City.

The above violations have caused difficulties for the state management of postal services, posing risks to safety and security in the provision of postal services, such as exposing confidential mail, loss of mail items, transportation of smuggled or prohibited goods through postal channels, unhealthy competition among businesses, and negative impacts on the rights of postal service users.

As a result, the Ministry of Information and Communications has revoked the licenses of 30 postal businesses. At the same time, the Ministry has conducted inspections and monitoring of postal service activities at the headquarters of 150 postal businesses.

As a result, it has been found that 7 postal businesses have shown signs of evasion, lack of cooperation or lack of serious cooperation with relevant state agencies when invited for cooperation; 38 postal businesses are not operating at the addresses stated on their postal licenses and cannot be contacted through the registered or declared phone numbers and email addresses in their postal license application documents and postal operation notification documents.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has requested the 38 above-mentioned postal businesses to urgently contact the Ministry of Information and Communications (Postal Division) via the phone number: (024) 39438204 or through the email address: [email protected] to confirm the postal activities status of the businesses. In case the postal businesses fail to contact, the Ministry will coordinate with relevant authorities to handle the situation according to regulations.

The Ministry also proposes that the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications coordinate and support in verifying the addresses and operational status of the aforementioned 38 postal businesses and report the verification results to the Ministry of Information and Communications in March 2024 for further actions in accordance with regulations.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications requests postal businesses to strictly comply with the postal regulations, ensuring the rights and interests of postal businesses and postal service users, and contributing to the healthy development of the postal market.
