Right after the opening speech of the session’s chair, on behalf of the provincial People’s Council Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran Xuan Vinh presented a document on dismissing Phan Viet Cuong from the position of provincial People’s Council Chairman and relieving him from his duties as a provincial People’s Council delegate (term X) for the 2021 – 2026 period. The reason is that Phan Viet Cuong has retired and has submitted a request to cease his duties as a provincial People’s Council delegate for the 2021 – 2026 period (term X).
As a result, 100% of the provincial People’s Council delegates (term X) present voted to dismiss Phan Viet Cuong from the position of provincial People’s Council Chairman and relieve him from his duties as a provincial People’s Council delegate (term X).
Also at the 21st session, the Quang Nam provincial People’s Council also voted to dismiss the positions of provincial People’s Committee Chairman and provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman.
On behalf of the provincial People’s Council Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran Xuan Vinh presented a document proposing that the provincial People’s Council (term X) consider dismissing Le Tri Thanh from the position of provincial People’s Committee Chairman for the 2021 – 2026 period according to authority.
As a result, 100% of the provincial People’s Council delegates present voted unanimously to dismiss Le Tri Thanh from the position of provincial People’s Committee Chairman for the 2021 – 2026 period.
Authorized by the provincial People’s Committee Chairman, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu presented a document proposing that the provincial People’s Council (term X) consider dismissing Nguyen Hong Quang from the position of provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman for the 2021 – 2026 period according to regulations. As a result, 100% of the provincial People’s Council delegates (term X) present voted unanimously to dismiss Nguyen Hong Quang from the position of provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman for the 2021 – 2026 period.
In addition, at this session, the provincial People’s Council also voted to dismiss Tran Thanh Ha, former Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and Nguyen Phu, former Director of the Department of Construction, from the positions of provincial People’s Committee members for the 2021 – 2026 period.
The provincial People’s Council also elected Bui Ngoc Anh, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, to the provincial People’s Committee for the 2021 – 2026 period.

Previously, from November 14-16, 2023, the Central Inspection Committee held its 33rd meeting to review the results of the inspection when there were signs of violations by the Party Committee Secretariat of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee (PPC). The Central Inspection Committee found that the Party Committee Secretariat of the Quang Nam provincial PPC had violated the principles of democratic centralism and working regulations; was irresponsible, and had loosened leadership and direction, allowing the PPC and many organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in the work of preventing and combating the Covid-19 pandemic and receiving citizens returning home to prevent and combat the pandemic; managing and using land for a number of investment projects and implementing projects/bidding packages carried out by the International Progress Joint Stock Company (AIC); and many cadres and party members were subject to criminal prosecution. Considering the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violations; based on the regulations of the Party, the Central Inspection Committee decided to impose a warning disciplinary measure on Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang, In January 2024, the Prime Minister issued a decision to impose a warning disciplinary measure on Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang. |
