Masan High – Tech Materials: Largest Taxpayer in Thai Nguyen Province for 2023

Masan High-Tech Materials continues to drive sustainable operational performance by focusing on initiatives to optimize costs and improve financial efficiency, aiming to achieve revenue of VND 15,000 - 15,800 billion by 2024.

The message was noted at the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of Masan High-Tech Materials with the theme “Fit for Future” (Change to adapt), which took place on April 23 in Thai Nguyen.

In 2023, Masan High-Tech Materials recorded revenue of 14,093 billion VND. This is the second highest revenue in the Company’s operating history. Earnings before income tax, interest, and depreciation EBITDA reached 1,550 billion VND.

Sales of copper concentrate in stock have improved in the domestic market, with copper sales revenue in 2023 reaching 1,044 billion VND, equivalent to 42,387 dry tons. The Company has also signed contracts with domestic partners with expected copper sales output in 2024 of 45,000 dry tons.

The Company continues to maintain its position as the Vietnamese enterprise with the largest tax contribution to Thai Nguyen province, with a total amount paid to the state budget of 1,414 billion VND.

In 2023, the Company continued to promote community activities and local economic development programs. The Company has fulfilled its social responsibility through community projects with a total investment of approximately 6.8 billion VND. Nearly 4,500 households have benefited from these programs, including over 600 ethnic minority households and 270 vulnerable households.

To ensure sustainable development and flexible response to the constant fluctuations of the market in a volatile year of 2023, the Company has implemented a series of strategic programs and measures, especially the “Fit for Future” program.

In 2023, Masan High-Tech Materials continuously improved production processes, reduced CO2 emissions, and optimized the use of energy and materials, while committing to developing superior products that ensure competitiveness, performance, and environmental friendliness. The Company classifies and converts waste into value-added products with a recycling rate of over 30% of the total waste generated.

Continuing the achievements, Masan High-Tech Materials continues to invest heavily in research and improvement of production processes, with nearly 100 patents worldwide, and 50 other patents in the application stage. In 2023, the Company launched 2 globally registered trademark products ‘Starck2charge®’ and ‘Starck2print®’, enriching the Company’s portfolio of high-tech products, meeting the needs of advanced technology companies and global industries.

Masan High-Tech Materials is also recognized as a pioneer in implementing carbon neutralization initiatives, promoting the circular economy. The Company conducted a greenhouse gas inventory and calculated greenhouse gas emissions, implemented an energy-saving program throughout the company with 9 projects exceeding targets, and electricity savings of up to 1,191 MWh/year. Through environmental restoration programs, the Company has planted 2,000 trees in areas of earth and rock dumps to absorb CO2, 63.9 hectares of land for afforestation, and restoration. The resource management system is integrated with artificial intelligence (AI), allowing for faster response to changes in operating conditions, optimization of processes, and energy savings.
