In Ho Chi Minh City, Mi Hong Company listed the price of SJC gold at 76.5 – 77.5 million VND/tael (buy – sell). Meanwhile, some other gold shops quoted the buying price of SJC gold at 76.5 million VND/tael and the selling price at 77 million VND/tael, a decrease of about 600,000 VND/tael.
Stock prices fell by more than 800,000 VND/tael after the Lunar New Year holiday.
Currently, the difference between the buying and selling prices of SJC gold pieces is maintained at 2 million VND/tael, a relatively high difference.
Meanwhile, the prices of 24K gold rings, gold jewelry have decreased, but at a slower rate than SJC gold.
Specifically, the prices of gold rings and gold jewelry traded by Phu Nhuan Gold, Silver and Gemstone Company (PNJ) are around 63.4 million VND/tael for buying and 64.5 million VND/tael for selling, a decrease of 100,000 VND/tael compared to before the Lunar New Year. The prices of gold rings of other brands remain stable compared to yesterday, at around 62.5 million VND/tael for buying and 62.9 million VND/tael for selling.
At the same time, the world gold price traded on the Kitco exchange is at 1,991 USD/ounce, the lowest level in the past month after US economic data showed continued inflation concerns.
The possibility that the US Federal Reserve (FED) is not yet able to start a interest rate cut trajectory, the increasing value of the US dollar has negatively affected the price of gold.
Currently, the world gold price converted at the listed exchange rate is about 59.1 million VND/tael, lower than SJC gold by 18.5 million VND/tael.
