Deputy Chairman of SSC appointed as Chairman of VNSC

The Ministry of Finance has recently appointed Mr. Luong Hai Sinh as the Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX).

On March 7, 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi chaired a conference to announce the decision to rotate and appoint the Chairman of the Board of Directors of VNX.

During the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi presented Decision No. 369/QD-UBCK dated March 1, 2024, signed by the Minister of Finance, regarding the rotation and appointment of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of VNX to Mr. Luong Hai Sinh. The decision is effective from March 1, 2024.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Luong Hai Sinh acknowledged that the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX) is newly established, and there are tasks to be carried out in the coming time. Especially, there are requirements arising from the development of the stock market. The newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of VNX affirmed that he will make efforts and leverage the spirit of unity with the leadership team of the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX) to fulfill the assigned tasks, contribute to the development of VNX, and contribute to the stability and development of the Vietnamese stock market.

Previously, Mr. Luong Hai Sinh was appointed as Deputy Chairman of the State Securities Commission since February 1, 2023.

It is known that Mr. Luong Hai Sinh was born in 1975 in Thai Nguyen. He has a Master’s degree in International Economics from the Foreign Trade University in Hanoi and an International Master’s degree from the University of Sunderland (UK).

Before being appointed as Deputy Chairman of the State Securities Commission, Mr. Sinh was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) from October 2019 and was reappointed in December 2022 for the 2021-2026 term.
