In the context of the SUV fever dominating the global automotive market, some manufacturers refuse to let classic sedans sink into oblivion. KIA is one of them.

On March 14, KIA Motors unexpectedly released the first teaser video of the K4 model, which is the next generation of the K3 sedan currently available in Vietnam and many other markets worldwide. At the same time, the South Korean automaker also announced that the 2024 KIA K4 will officially debut on March 21.

Before the name change, the name K4 was used for a Chinese domestic model of KIA, but now it will replace the K3 in its global expansion plan. Meanwhile, the name K3 (Cerato) will be handed over to the Rio model in a lower segment.

This time, the Korean brand does not delve into technical specifications, but promises that the K4 will set “new standards for design, innovation, and driving appeal” in the small sedan segment. KIA also refers to “advanced technology,” referring to a modern digital cockpit and a driver assistance system.

If it comes to Vietnam, the 2024 KIA K4 will continue to compete in the C-segment sedan segment with other models such as the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, or Mazda3.

Through the short teaser video released, it can be seen that the 2024 KIA K4 has a familiar silhouette to the K3/Cerato with a coupe-like curved roof in the back. Above the ceiling is a large-sized panoramic sunroof. The rear taillights are in an inverted L shape and the daytime running lights in front are in a T shape, similar to the prototype revealed publicly not long ago.

In addition, the 2024 KIA K4 test car has revealed a unique design detail: the rear door handles are moved to an unusual position on the C-pillars. However, since the lighting in the teaser video is quite ethereal and unclear, this detail is difficult to identify.

Although the Korean automaker has not officially released any images of the interior of the 2024 KIA K4, some details have been revealed through the test version.

It can be seen that the cabin of the 2024 KIA K4 has been upgraded to be more modern with a large-sized screen integrated with entertainment and meter functions in a single frame.

Below the screen, the control panel includes physical buttons to adjust the air conditioning. In the central control area, there is a large-size gear lever with a traditional style.

Depending on the market and depending on the transmission system, the car is expected to be equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, potentially offering hybrid options available in some areas.
