The Provincial People’s Committee of Dong Nai has just agreed with the proposed route orientation of the project to supply underground fuel for Long Thanh International Airport. The province has instructed functional agencies to update the underground route in the land use plan of Long Thanh district until 2030.

The project to supply underground fuel for Long Thanh International Airport is an essential work that needs to be completed by the end of 2025 to serve the operation and exploitation of the project in 2026.

The underground fuel pipeline will be built parallel to the T1 road corridor before connecting to Long Thanh airport.

According to the proposed implementation plan of the Jet A-1 fuel transmission pipeline from the Gò Dầu source depot to Long Thanh International Airport by Tân Sơn Nhất Petroleum Trading Joint Stock Company (the unit operating the underground fuel supply and charging system at Tân Sơn Nhất Airport), the fuel supply pipeline for Long Thanh Airport starts from the Gò Dầu source depot to Long Thanh International Airport with a length of 21 km.

According to the plan, the pipeline consists of 9 sections with 2 parallel steel pipes, spaced 0.5 m apart. The depth of burial of the pipes is 2m compared to the existing cross-section. The underground pipeline is expected to follow the corridor of National Highway 51, the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway, the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau railway, and the T1 road connecting to Long Thanh Airport.

The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Vo Tan Duc, said that the locality has reached an agreement with the project proposer on the route orientation of the underground fuel supply pipeline for Long Thanh International Airport.

Before the province of Dong Nai sends a document to the Ministry of Transport to agree on the implementation, the consulting unit and the investor must have a presentation document that clearly explains 5 issues requested by the Ministry of Transport: compatibility with infrastructure works in the area; design solution suitable for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau railway; safety, fire prevention and explosion prevention, as well as compatibility with underground works and 2 fuel depots at Long Thanh Airport.
