Vincom Retail JSC (stock code: VRE) has just announced a change in its top personnel, which took place right after the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. Specifically, Ms. Tran Mai Hoa – Vice Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors, replacing Ms. Thai Thi Thanh Hai. The appointment took effect from April 23rd.
Previously, on April 22nd, Ms. Tran Mai Hoa had resigned from her position as General Director of Vincom Retail. According to our research, Ms. Tran Mai Hoa was born in 1974 in Yen Bai, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the National Economics University and a Bachelor’s degree in English from the Hanoi University of Foreign Studies.
From 2005 to 2009, she was the Chief Accountant at An Du Payment Data and Communication JSC (one of the largest Mercedes-Benz car distributors in Vietnam). She then became the Finance Director (2009-2011) and Deputy General Director at An Du (2009-2013).
In 2014, Ms. Hoa officially joined Vincom Retail as Project Management Director at Vincom Mega Mall Times City and Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, and Deputy General Director from 2014 to 2016. In 2017, Ms. Hoa was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Vincom Retail.

At the general meeting, Vincom Retail also elected an additional member to the Board of Directors to replace Ms. Thai Thi Thanh Ha and Ms. Le Mai Lan, who resigned. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam (born in 1970), who is currently the General Director of Berjaya Vietnam Group – a branch of the multi-industry conglomerate Berjaya Corporation Berhad of Malaysia, was elected as an additional member.
According to our research, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Foreign Trade, and later pursued a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. In 1992, Mr. Nam began his career as Business Director for 3C. Corporation. Six years later, he moved to the position of Finance Director of TTT Corporation. In 2005, he became the General Director of Viet Au Investment Company.

From 2007 to the present, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam has worked for Berjaya Corporation Berhad, holding the position of General Director of the group’s Vietnam branch. It is known that under the leadership of Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Berjaya Vietnam currently owns Sheraton Hanoi, Long Beach Phu Quoc, and real estate projects such as Hanoi City Garden and Bien Hoa City…
Mr. Nam is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nam Huong Media and Investment JSC; NP Investment and Trading JSC; Chairman of the Members Council of JVA Ho Chi Minh City Co., Ltd. (Jeep Vietnam); and is a member of the Members Council of Berjaya – West Lake Joint Venture Company (owner of Sheraton Hanoi Hotel), Berjaya – Handico12 Co., Ltd., and Berjaya – D2D Co., Ltd.
