SJC Gold Price Fluctuates Significantly Today
This morning, at 9 am, the SJC gold price at Saigon Gold and Precious Metals dropped sharply by almost 1 million dong per tael. The buy price was less than 80 million dong/tael. However, the SJC gold price quickly reversed and rebounded immediately after, as news broke that the State Bank of Vietnam’s gold bullion auction had officially ended.
As of 4 pm today, the SJC gold price was listed at 81-83.3 million dong/tael, an increase of 1 million dong in the selling price and 1.2 million dong in the buying price compared to 9 am.
Similarly, other gold businesses also adjusted their SJC gold prices higher than at 9 am this morning.
For example, Mi Hong gold shop is currently raising its SJC gold price to 81.7-83 million dong/tael. VietinBank Gold lists its SJC gold price at 81-83.32 million dong/tael.
Bao Tin Minh Chau also raised its SJC gold price back to 83 million dong/tael for selling and 81.3 million dong/tael for buying.
This morning, the State Bank of Vietnam also organized the first SJC gold bullion auction in 11 years. According to the announced results, only 2 members won the bid with a total volume of 34 lots (equivalent to 3,400 taels of gold) out of a total of 16,800 taels offered for sale.
The highest winning bid was 81.33 million dong/tael and the lowest was 81.32 million dong/tael. This price is lower than the SJC gold price sold this afternoon by about 2 million dong. Experts expect that with the gold bullion auction, the SJC gold price will be adjusted downward in the near future, narrowing the gap with the world gold price.
On the world market today (Vietnam time), gold prices recorded strong fluctuations, currently hovering around USD 2,301/ounce. The decrease was up to USD 25 compared to the opening price. In terms of conversion, the world gold price is equivalent to 69 million dong/tael. Notably, there was a time when the gold price plummeted below USD 2,296/ounce.
