Prior to that, the Central Korean News Agency (KCNA) reported on February 20 that Russian President Vladimir Putin gave North Korean leader Kim Jong-un a car. However, KCNA did not disclose any further details about this gift.

Later, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed to TASS that Russian President has presented Kim Jong-un with an Aurus.

Russian President Putin has been using the Aurus Senat limousine, which is domestically produced, since 2018. This car brought Putin to his inauguration on May 7, 2018.

Aurus Senat is 5.63 meters long and the version for President Putin is extended to 6.7 meters. This car is equipped with bulletproof body, ultra-strong glass, and bomb-proof undercarriage. Aurus Senat is powered by a V8 engine, reaches a top speed of 250 km/h, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds. Many high-ranking foreign guests have had the opportunity to experience this Aurus Senat, including leaders of member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

According to the Al Jazeera channel, during his visit to the Far East (Russia) in September 2023, Kim Jong-un admired Russian President Putin’s Aurus Senat limousine and was invited to sit in the back seat by the Russian leader.
