Vietnam – The New “Wedding Paradise” for Indian Billionaires: Stunning Nature, Luxury Services, 5-Year Consecutive “Travel Oscar” Winning Wedding Destination

Before billionaire Vivek Dinodiya invited 600 guests to Hạ Long Bay for his wedding, many high society individuals from India also chose Vietnam as the venue for their big days. The "epicenter" is said to be the 2019 wedding of Rushang Shah and Kaabia Grewal, held at a resort that has been honored as the world's top luxury wedding destination for five consecutive years.

The wedding of groom Vivek Dinodiya – an Indian billionaire, Director of global import-export company PL Global Impex Pte Ltd and bride Anmol Garg is the largest wedding ever held at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Ha Long.

600 guests from the super-rich and officials celebrated for 3 days from 16-18/2. The service team was brought from India and amounted to 500 people. The leaders of the Department of Tourism and the leaders of Ha Long City warmly welcomed and presented congratulatory gifts to the wedding.

This is a good opportunity to promote Ha Long tourism in particular and Vietnam in general, especially in the context of India being the 9th largest international tourist market of Vietnam. At this time last year, another Indian billionaire couple also chose Ha Long as the venue for their big day.

Aside from Ha Long, other coastal cities of Vietnam such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc have also been chosen by Indian super-rich brides and grooms. Beautiful landscapes and luxurious facilities create a “paradise” setting for weddings. Premium resorts in Vietnam are also discreet, providing privacy and security for the event.

Some preferred resorts in Vietnam by Indian super-rich include Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort & Convention Center and JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc has won the category “World’s Leading Luxury Wedding Resort” at the World Travel Awards for 5 consecutive years (from 2019 to 2023) – an award regarded as the “Oscar of the travel industry”. It is also the wedding venue for the billionaire couple Rushang Shah and Kaabia Grewal in March 2019, an event that drew the attention of the Indian super-rich to Vietnam.

The wedding of groom Rushang Shah and bride Kaabia Grewal is one of the most anticipated weddings in India in 2019 and is considered an unprecedented event in Phu Quoc. The groom’s family wanted the wedding to take place on a beach, but it had to be unique, never before chosen by any other Indian tycoon for a wedding. Eventually, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Resort was chosen.

This wedding lasted for 4 days, with about 700 guests and 200 serving staff. Two Vietjet aircraft were chartered to transport guests directly from India to Phu Quoc.

Weddings of the Indian elite are often held for days at luxurious resorts, renting either the entire resort or a private area for singing and dancing. With hundreds of guests, a sufficient number of rooms is required. This group of guests also seizes the opportunity to travel locally, sightsee, and shop, bringing significant revenue.
