Viettel Post valued at nearly 8 trillion in HOSE listing debut

March 12th, 2024 marks the inaugural trading day for nearly 121.8 million shares of Viettel Post on the HOSE exchange, with a reference price of 65,400 Vietnamese dong per share, under the stock symbol VTP.

The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) has announced the listing and first trading date of VTP shares of Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Post) on this exchange. The approval for listing by HOSE came into effect on December 21, 2023, after about 2 months of receiving the listing registration dossier from the postal industry giant.

All nearly 121.8 million VTP shares will begin trading on HOSE from March 12, 2024, with the reference price of VND 65,400 per share and a 20% fluctuation band. Therefore, on the first day of its listing on HOSE, Viettel Post is valued at nearly VND 8 trillion.

VTP had been trading on UPCoM for more than 5 years (from November 23, 2018 – February 29, 2024), starting with over 41.3 million shares, equivalent to a charter capital of over VND 413 billion. The reference price on the first trading day was VND 68,000 per share, equivalent to a market capitalization of VND 2.8 trillion at that time. With the upcoming listing on HOSE, Viettel will welcome its second member to be traded on this exchange, alongside Viettel Construction Joint Stock Corporation (HOSE: CTR).

Prior to the official switch to HOSE, VTP shares reacted positively, closing the last trading session on UPCoM at a price of VND 78,400 per share, marking the historical peak of VTP.

In terms of business performance, in Q4 2023, VTP recorded VND 5.1 trillion in revenue, a slight decrease of 3% compared to the same period last year; net profit of VND 104 billion, while in the same period last year, the company suffered a loss of VND 1.2 billion. The company continues to demonstrate increasingly positive business results, with higher results in the following quarter compared to Q4 2022. Cumulative for the year 2023, the company’s net profit reached VND 380 billion, an increase of 49% compared to the previous year.
