Volvo introduces S90 Recharge in Vietnam, the “fuel-sipping” car model priced at nearly 3 billion VND.

The introduction of the S90 Recharge sedan is part of the “Recharge to Shine” exhibition, which aims to bring new, positive and inspiring ideas about successful and sustainable lifestyles to the Vietnamese market in 2024.

With the S90 Recharge, Volvo completes its range of plug-in hybrid vehicles, alongside the XC60 and XC90 Recharge SUVs. ” The S90 Recharge is a sedan that combines power, technology, and elegant beauty ,” said a representative of Volvo Car Vietnam.

Speaking about the electrification vision and the reason for introducing the plug-in hybrid collection to the Vietnamese market, Nick Connor – Managing Director of Asia Pacific Import Markets and the Middle East at Volvo Cars said that this is a necessary stepping stone for the brand.

With the S90 Recharge, the car utilizes a combination of petrol and electric power, delivering a maximum output of 562 horsepower. The electric range of this luxury sedan model reaches up to 98 kilometers, the longest in Volvo’s current plug-in hybrid lineup.

According to Volvo’s registered certification with the Vietnam Register, the Volvo S90 Recharge employs a plug-in hybrid drivetrain with a fuel consumption rate of 1.4 liters per 100 kilometers. This figure is lower than that of many motorcycles in Vietnam, such as the Honda SH 125 (2.52 liters/100 km) or the Yamaha Exciter (2.0 liters/100 km).

With a plug-in hybrid vehicle like the Volvo S90 Recharge, users can utilize various modes, including pure petrol mode, hybrid mode combining both petrol and electric, or pure electric mode (with a maximum range of 98 kilometers).

Keeping true to Volvo’s characteristic Scandinavian design, the S90 Recharge promises to offer a spacious interior. The seats are covered in Fine Nappa leather, with Glossy Black wood trim, a handmade crystal gear shifter from Orrefors in Sweden, and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system featuring 19 speakers…

On this occasion, Volvo will also launch the latest Volvo Car East Saigon showroom, built in the first “downtown showroom” model in Vietnam, along with a series of projects and celebrations to mark 55 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden (1969 – 2024).

Volvo Car East Saigon is also the first Volvo dealer to bring an all-new “Volvo Downtown Showroom” experience to Vietnam with Lagom minimalistic design complemented by the Scandinavian essence of the Volvo brand from Northern Europe. Volvo Car East Saigon occupies an area of nearly 1,000 square meters, including an exhibition area for cars, Fika café, customer negotiation rooms, and office spaces.
