Official Introduction of LNG into Industrial Production

PV GAS now officially supplies LNG to support industrial production, marking a crucial milestone in Vietnam's transition to environmentally friendly energy.

On March 18, PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) officially announced the deployment of LNG (liquefied natural gas) for industrial production in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the first LNG trucks in Vietnam, with a capacity of 100 m3, were loaded from the Thi Vai loading station (Ba Ria- Vung Tau) to the Thuan Dao LNG gas conversion station (Long An) on March 15, marking an important milestone for Vietnam’s energy sector.

To prepare for the first LNG tank truck deliveries to customers, PV GAS has made thorough preparations in terms of infrastructure, equipment systems, and qualified personnel for a long period of time, from importing and storing ports to gas pipelines, tank trucks, gas conversion stations with modern equipment and technology…

Prior to this, in October 2023, PV GAS inaugurated the Special Equivalent Petroleum Industrial Facility – Thi Vai 1 MMTPA LNG Storage. This event marked the remarkable efforts of PV GAS in the journey of green and environmentally friendly energy transformation. In 2023, PV GAS also welcomed the first LNG import vessel to Vietnam.

LNG offers outstanding advantages in energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, convenience in transportation, and a guaranteed supply source as promised by PV GAS.

The use of LNG is also a way for businesses to demonstrate their responsibility and contribute to the protection of the environment and the development of the country and society.

It is known that PV GAS will start the phase 2 construction of the Thi Vai LNG Storage with a capacity increase to 3 million tons per year, expected to operate by 2026. In addition, PV GAS will also implement the Sơn Mỹ central LNG port warehouse project in Binh Thuan province with a total capacity of 6 million tons per year and implement LNG central port warehouse investment projects in the North Central Coast and North Vietnam region.

In addition, PV GAS has established agreements with leading LNG suppliers worldwide to ensure a stable and competitive supply source for the domestic market.
