Massive Losses and Negative Equity of Nearly a Hundred Billion: iWealth Investment Corporation Changes Major Shareholders and Director

IWealth Investment Joint Stock Company ended 2023 with dismal results, according to its periodic financial statement released to the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).

According to the announcement, iWealth suffered a loss of over VND193 billion in 2023 (compared to a profit of nearly VND5.4 billion in the same period). Notably, its equity at the end of 2023 had turned negative (nearly VND-95 billion), while the previous year recorded nearly VND99 billion.

Based on the debt-to-equity ratio, iWealth’s total outstanding debt at the end of 2023 was nearly VND7.4 trillion, three times higher than the previous year. However, the company cleared its bond debt at this time.

iWealth Asset Investment is known to operate in the financial services support sector. It was established in 2012 as Hoa Binh Debt Trading Co., Ltd. (HBDC), with its initial headquarters in Long An Province. In 2021, the company changed its name to its current one. In mid-2022, the company moved its headquarters to Hanoi.

The current legal representative is Ms. Phan Thi Thu Thao (born in 1968, residing in Can Tho), who is also the Director of the Company. Ms. Thao is also the representative of another legal entity, VAM Consulting JSC. iWealth currently has a charter capital of VND100 billion, of which Ms. Thao holds over 95% of the shares, A Warehousing and Service Investment JSC holds 1.998%, and Sao Thuy Trading and Investment Service JSC holds 2.997%.

In early 2024, there was a change in iWealth’s shareholder structure. Specifically, on January 11, all of Ms. Thao’s shares were transferred to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nga (born in 1957, residing in Hanoi). Ms. Nga also became the legal representative and Director of the Company, replacing Ms. Thao.
