Leveraging Over 2,000 Night Flights, Airlines Target Cooling Airfares

To cater for the increasing travel demand during the upcoming April 30th - May 1st holiday and the summer peak season, Vietnam Airlines has announced that it will operate and offer an additional 2,000 flights departing after 9 pm daily on routes connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, and other destinations.

Vietnam Airlines has launched and sold an additional 2,000 flights operating in the late-night slot from 9 pm daily on the routes between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Quy Nhon.

The additional night flights are designed to offer more options to passengers and meet the increasing travel demand during the peak season amid reduced supply caused by engine recalls.

Accordingly, the airline is also offering many economy-class tickets at attractive prices during this time slot, such as economy saver tickets (from VND 1,724,000/leg or VND 1,929,000/leg, including tax and fees) for the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route or economy saver tickets on routes between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon…

Meanwhile, to further stimulate domestic tourism, Vietnam Airlines is implementing many promotional programs during this period. Passengers who purchase full-priced economy flex or economy standard tickets will receive a 20% discount when purchasing economy flex or economy standard tickets for their next flight; a 10% discount on airfares for groups of 4 or more and a 15% discount for groups of 8 or more; and early bird discounts of up to 5% on domestic routes when booking 30 days prior to departure.

In addition, the airline is offering many business class promotions from only VND 1,909,000/flight (including tax and fees) for some domestic routes with departure slots before/at 6 am and from/after 9 pm. These programs may have conditions attached regarding departure time and flight sector.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines has recorded that in the first two days of the holiday (April 27-28), the seat occupancy rate on many tourist routes has reached 70-90%, such as Hanoi – Hue, Chu Lai, Quy Nhon, Dong Hoi, Nha Trang; Ho Chi Minh City – Phu Quoc, Tuy Hoa, Dong Hoi, Da Lat, Van Don… Flights from Hanoi to Da Nang and Phu Quoc have been more than half full and are expected to continue to increase sharply in the week leading up to the holiday.
