Based on Official Dispatch No. 2450/VPCP-KGVX dated April 12, 2024 of the Government Office on the agreement to the proposal to switch working days for the holidays of April 30th Victory Day and May 1st International Labor Day in 2024; Official Dispatch No. 2780/UBCK-PTTT dated May 13, 2022 on the announcement of the trading break schedule for the debt instrument market in 2024, the State Securities Commission (SSC) has issued a notice on the holiday schedule for the upcoming holiday season.
Specifically, the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX), the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), and the Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD) will implement the holiday switch in accordance with Official Dispatch 2450/VPCP-KGVX dated April 12, 2024 of the Government Office. Accordingly, civil servants, public employees, and workers of state administrative agencies and public service units will take a break from Saturday, April 27, 2024 to Wednesday, May 1, 2024, and work in lieu on Saturday, May 4, 2024. However, at the present time, there has been no official announcement on whether or not securities investors will be allowed to make up for the break on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Securities companies have also not yet announced the holiday schedule for April 30 – May 1 and the return to work date.
