Most customers bring their pets for grooming in preparation for Tet and make reservations for pet boarding when they cannot bring their dogs or cats back to their hometown or travel during the Tet holiday.

Ms. Hue Oanh (from Go Vap District) is waiting for the staff to groom her pet and mentioned that she has spent about 300,000 VND for thorough cleaning and trimming its fur, making her pet clean, neat, and beautiful for Tet.

She said her smart pet is understanding, even though it is her first pet and she does not have much experience.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi, the owner of Nha Ba Tao – Kat Motel pet hotel (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), the demand for pet care during the Tet holiday has significantly increased from the end of December 2023 to the middle of January 2024, resulting in all rooms being fully booked.

Each room is equipped with air conditioning and an air purifier to ensure the pets’ health. In addition, they also receive other services such as eye, nose, ear cleaning, and coat brushing.

“The hotel currently has two types of rooms: standard (2-3 pets/room) and VIP (4-5 pets/room), ranging from 160,000 to 240,000 VND/day. They also receive a daily food ration including chicken breast and grains. During Tet, there is an additional 30% surcharge, but all the rooms have been fully booked since mid-January. I will still provide support to any pet owners who have higher requirements for care,” said Ms. Nhi.

In addition, pet spa services are also in high demand. Ms. Truong My Tien, an employee at Unipet Clinic (Thu Duc District), shared that the schedule for pet care and grooming during the period leading up to Tet has been fully booked since the 24th day of the final month of the lunar calendar.

“At the end of the year, many customers schedule appointments for nail care, fur trimming, bathing, and grooming their pets, which increases by about 30% compared to normal days.

For safety reasons, many customers also have their pets vaccinated to prevent diseases. During Tet, the clinic applies an additional 20% surcharge and operates continuously from now until the end of Tet,” Ms. Tien shared.
