VPBank’s Impressive Running Stats

On a Saturday weekend, as the lights illuminated Can Tho City, 5,300 runners embarked on the VPBank Can Tho Music Night Run 2024 (VCMNR 2024) along the Can Tho and Hau Rivers. Not only did they witness iconic landmarks of Can Tho City, but the runners also enjoyed electrifying performances at five mini live music stages scattered along the route, featuring diverse genres from acoustic, rap, and rock to folk, classical, and impromptu saxophone melodies.

Music stations set up along the running course, inspiring runners

Many runners temporarily abandoned the racecourse to dance and sing with the performers and Can Tho residents. Additionally, numerous runners adorned impressive cosplay outfits, posing for photos with fellow runners and cheering spectators lining the streets. The atmosphere in Can Tho City was not that of a mere running event but a festival where runners and locals alike came together to share laughter, joy, and an unforgettable experience.

Thousands of runners express their emotions at the grand music festival at the “finish line.”

The most striking aspect of the race was the post-finish musical extravaganza. Beloved young artists such as Isaac, Myra Tran, Long Non La, the Chillies band, and DJ Mie graced the stage for what a seasoned runner, Do Minh, who has participated in numerous races nationwide, described as “an exhilarating and spectacular grand finale rarely seen in running events in Vietnam.”

VPBank has once again successfully added a remarkable running event to its portfolio of races organized and sponsored by the bank. “VPBank is among the first banking brands to embrace running,” said Nguyen Thuy Duong, Director of VPBank’s Marketing and Communications Department and VPBank representative. “For nearly a decade, we have organized 13 large-scale running events across four cities and provinces. During the inaugural season in Hanoi, over 2,000 individuals participated, and now, the total number of runners in VPBank’s races has grown to approximately 75,000.”

According to the representative, VPBank is also home to one of the largest running clubs in the country, with 2,000 members spread across provinces nationwide. “Wherever VPBank has a branch, there are runners. In the recent VCMNR 2024, our employees from Hanoi, Bac Giang, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City joined their Can Tho counterparts in the race. VPRun (VPBank’s running club) had nearly 500 participants this time,” Duong said enthusiastically.

Deciphering VPBank’s Passion for Running

The VPBank representative also revealed that the bank’s commitment to running events stems from its own internal culture of running. Moreover, VPBank’s running spirit has been met with support, as the races organized and sponsored by the bank have attracted an increasing number of participants, including athletes and customers.

Today, VPBank’s position within the running community is firmly established as a brand that guarantees quality running events while making positive contributions to society.

Many running events organized by VPBank also include CSR activities that create positive value for the community.

Throughout the 13 running events, VPBank has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the community, from organizing non-profit races to promoting local tourism through communications efforts and implementing CSR programs alongside runners. For example, the “Just Run – For a Healthy and Prosperous Vietnam” race held in Ho Chi Minh City in 2021 provided free healthcare to thousands of local workers, raised funds to support medical professionals in remote areas, and launched a free mobile medical clinic. In the VPBank Hanoi International Marathon 2023, VPBank contributed $13 for every participant to support charitable programs. The VPBank Bac Giang Marathon was organized free of charge by VPBank, and participants were encouraged to donate to the Bac Giang Provincial Youth Union’s social welfare fund to receive their race bib.

Thousands of runners experience the VPBank Can Tho Music Night Run 2024

Furthermore, the bank has consistently introduced new running formats, ranging from the VPIM 2023 autumn race to the VPBank VnExpress Marathon Ho Chi Minh Midnight night race, the VPBank Bac Giang Marathon trail race exploring the sacred peak of Yen Tu, and most recently, the VPBank Can Tho Music Night Run, combining running and music.

It can be said that VPBank is no longer merely a title sponsor of running events but has evolved into a companion and source of inspiration. “In this sport, we have found the essence of sportsmanship, camaraderie, humanity, and a positive lifestyle,” shared the VPBank representative. Perhaps this is why running will always be an integral part of VPBank’s growth strategy and commitment to sustainability in the future. Athletes can expect to experience even more VPBank-branded running events across the country.
