According to a Facebook account named Pham Huyen Trang, the group of customers went to Vua Hai San 3 Restaurant in Bai Chay ward, Ha Long City and ordered 2 bowls of lobster priced at 2.1 million Vietnamese dong, 1 plate of prawn seafood priced at 1.3 million Vietnamese dong, and when they ordered cheese scallops, they were served scallops with lard, clams, and small snails. The bill for this group of customers’ meal amounted to 11,785,000 Vietnamese dong.

This information was also reported on many social media platforms, which made many people angry.

After receiving the information, the authorities of Bai Chay ward quickly took action and are currently verifying the facts.

The leaders of the People’s Committee of Bai Chay ward confirmed that the information mentioned above occurred at Vua Hai San 3 Restaurant, located within the ward, and the customers’ meal took place on February 15 (which is the 6th day of the Lunar New Year).

“Currently, the authorities are verifying the information posted on social media,” said the leaders of Bai Chay ward.

In an interview with reporters, Mr. Thanh, the owner of Vua Hai San 3 Restaurant, also confirmed the incident at his restaurant.

However, Mr. Thanh affirmed: “The cost of the customers’ meal was sold at publicly listed prices at the restaurant, and there was a discussion with the customers about the food before preparing it, such as choosing a specific type of lobster, which is priced higher.”

The owner of Vua Hai San 3 Restaurant also added that the group of customers consisted of 16 people, and the meal was for the beginning of the Lunar New Year. After the customers finished their meal, they did not directly report or discuss anything with the restaurant. They only posted the content on social media after leaving.
