TiNiWorld’s Funland Chain Abruptly Closes Dozens of Locations at Vincom Shopping Malls

TiNiWorld has announced this move to operate more efficiently by 2024.

Recently, tiNiWorld – a chain of entertainment centers serving children and teenagers – announced the closure of their tiNiWorld and tiNiStore locations. Specifically, all tiNiWorld and tiNiStore locations in Vincom shopping centers will close starting on February 5, 2024. Meanwhile, other tiNi locations nationwide will continue to operate as usual.

The company stated that this move aims to streamline their business operations for the year 2024.

“The VuiVuiLand centers in Vincom shopping centers are not related to the tiNiWorld/tiNiStore brand and do not belong to the Nkid Group company. tiNi affirms that they do not sell shares or franchise the brand to any other entity, so they will not be responsible for the quality of services, safety, and any other issues arising from these centers (including personnel and recruitment issues),” noted the entertainment chain.

Prior to the announcement of the closure, the tiNi system had 42 tiNiWorld centers and 35 tiNiStore centers nationwide. The chain stated that it serves over 12 million customers annually. Most locations are situated in commercial centers and large supermarket chains such as Aeon Mall, Thiso Mall, Giga Mall, Lotte, Vincom. In 2020, tiNiWorld owned 24 recreational locations in Vincoms across the country. By the time of the 2024 Lunar New Year, the chain will still have 12 operating spots at Vincoms.

tiNiWorld was founded in September 2009. In 2016, Nkid Group received a $40 million investment to expand its retail chain and entertainment centers, as well as introduce new business activities. In 2019, Nkid Group further received a $36.2 million investment from Singapore’s Crescent Point fund management company. In addition to operating under its own brand, this company also aimed to franchise Disney brands starting in 2017.
