Over 1.3 trillion VND compensation for land in the largest industrial park project in Can Tho

The Can Tho City Land Development Center has approved the compensation and support plan for all residents who have to give up their land for the VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park project, and has already handed over more than 232 ha of land to the investors.

On March 1, representatives from the Land Development Center of Can Tho City announced that they have approved a plan for compensation and support for all 602 cases affected by the VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park project. They have also successfully acquired and handed over a total of 232 hectares of land to investors.

According to representatives from the Land Development Center of Can Tho City, the land clearance work for this project is essentially completed, with a total compensation budget of over 1.34 trillion VND.

The VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park has a total investment capital of over 3,700 billion VND and commenced construction in September 2023. It is the 13th Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park nationwide and the first project in the Mekong Delta region, located in Vinh Trinh commune, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho City.

VSIP Can Tho is planned to have a total area of 900 hectares and is expected to create employment for 100,000 workers and attract 3.5 billion USD in investment capital. Phase 1 covers an area of over 293 hectares and will initially provide jobs for 20,000 – 30,000 workers.

The project is designed to be an intelligent and sustainable industrial park, serving as a major food processing and distribution center in the southern region. It aims to establish a “from center to port” logistics network and supportive infrastructure to best support the supply chain needs of investors.

The leadership of Can Tho City expects that the project will create a favorable environment for investors in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region as a whole, which is a key economic region in the Mekong Delta.
