Bridging Forests and Mountains: Spectacular Highways Connecting North and South
There are numerous towering bridges along the North-South expressway section from Dien Chau to Bai Vot. These bridges have impressive lengths and heights. Currently, the bridges are being gradually completed to ensure smooth traffic flow to the intersection with National Highway 46 in Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province by May.
The Than Vu 2 bridge has a length of 1,287 meters and is located in Nghi Dong commune (Nghi Loc district, Nghe An). The bridge is designed with 32 Super T beams. Due to the high mountainous terrain, the bridge is designed with bridge piers with a height of tens of meters.
Each Super T beam has a length of 40 meters. After assembling the beams, the construction units proceed to pour concrete before laying the road surface to complete the project.
The bridge piers are designed to be tens of meters high.
At the bridges, there are pillars ranging from 40-50 meters high, making it difficult for construction. However, during the construction process, the units have researched and innovated to effectively and safely implement the project.
The Than Vu 2 bridge is also essentially completed.
