Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation Appoints New 52-Year-Old CEO

On March 18, the Council of Members of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) has appointed Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Member of the PVN Council of Members, to the position of CEO of the group.

Previously, on March 15, the Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee in Enterprises has signed a decision to appoint Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Deputy CEO of PVN, to the position of Member of the Council of Members of the group.

Mr. Le Ngoc Son, born in 1972, has a master’s degree in Petroleum Evaluation and Management, and is an engineer in Petroleum Drilling and Production Technology.

The new CEO of PVN has nearly 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, holding various positions. Before being appointed as CEO of PVN, Mr. Le Ngoc Son held the positions of Head of Oil and Gas Exploitation Department of PVN, and CEO of Phu Quoc Petroleum Operation Company.

Since March 2021, Mr. Le Ngoc Son has been the Deputy CEO of PVN.

Mr. Le Manh Hung, the predecessor of Mr. Le Ngoc Son, was appointed as the Chairman of the PVN Council of Members since January 1, 2024.
