On January 30, information from the People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa City stated that the provincial People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa has formally approved the project to expand and upgrade Le Loi Boulevard, from Phu Son Intersection to Dong Bridge in Thanh Hoa City.
Accordingly, the provincial People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa has assigned the city’s Project Management Board of Investment and Construction to implement the project to upgrade and expand Le Loi Boulevard with a length of 1.5km. The total investment capital for the project is over 1,000 billion VND.
Of which, the provincial budget allocates 450 billion VND, while the city’s budget and other legally mobilized sources of capital amount to 558 billion VND. The project is scheduled to be completed by 2025.
According to the representative of the city’s Project Management Board of Investment and Construction, during the construction process, it is estimated that 290 households and Dong Market will be affected, including 254 households that need to be relocated and 36 households that will need to move to the inner area.
According to the design documents, the project starts at Km 0+00, intersecting with National Highway 47 at Km 20+050 (Phu Son Intersection) in Phu Son Ward, Thanh Hoa City. The end point is at Km 1+500, connected to the intersection within the scope of the road project from Thanh Hoa City Center to the road connecting Tho Xuan Airport to the Nghi Son Economic Zone in An Hung Ward, Thanh Hoa City.
The investment in the project aims to gradually improve the transport network in the area and connect important transport routes in Thanh Hoa province. Especially, due to the high volume of vehicles in the city area, Le Loi Boulevard is currently overloaded.
Le Loi Boulevard, which is nearly 3km long, is a central street that develops along the east-west axis of Thanh Hoa City, concentrating many commercial centers and offices.
On January 27, Sam Son City People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 2 of Nam Song Ma Boulevard, from the coastal road to the memory road intersection. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
The project is a Grade II transportation project, with a total investment capital of over 330 billion VND from the budget of Sam Son City and other legally mobilized sources. The city’s Project Management Board of Investment and Construction is the investor, while the Central Construction Corporation is the contractor.
According to the design, the road is 1.9km long, with a design speed of over 50km/h, a road width of 28m, including a median strip, sidewalks, drainage system, 2 intersections, 1 bridge crossing the Do River, and lighting system, trees, etc.
Mr. Le Van Tu, Chairman of Sam Son City People’s Committee, said that the project contributes to building Sam Son City into an attractive, friendly, smart coastal tourist city, a national tourist destination, and an ideal destination for domestic and international tourists.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Mai Xuan Liem, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that the investment in the Phase 2 of Nam Song Ma Boulevard project aims to gradually complete the length and cross-section scale of Nam Song Ma Boulevard according to the planning, complete a synchronized and modern transportation system, create a reasonable transportation network, meet traffic demand, and ensure inter-regional connectivity through the coastal road and traffic axes in the area.
According to the schedule, the project will be completed and put into operation in 2025. Therefore, Mr. Liem requested Sam Son City People’s Committee to concentrate resources and allocate capital plans to meet the requirements of the project. At the same time, focus on directing the investor and the contractor to fulfill their functions and tasks in accordance with the regulations on investment and construction; organize construction to ensure quality, aesthetics, progress, environmental hygiene, and labor safety.
Phase 2 of Nam Song Ma Boulevard expansion project has a total investment capital of about 930 billion VND. Of which, the part of the road passing through Thanh Hoa City has an investment capital of 600 billion VND, and Sam Son City has an investment capital of 330 billion VND.
According to the information from Thanh Hoa City People’s Committee, the project to expand Phase 2 of Nam Song Ma Boulevard has been approved for investment. The road passing through Thanh Hoa City is 12km long with a total investment capital of about 600 billion VND.
In 2022, the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council issued two Resolutions on some specific development mechanisms and policies for Thanh Hoa City and Sam Son City. In which, the Phase 2 of Nam Song Ma Boulevard project is included in the list of prioritized projects for investment from the land use fees of land exploitation projects.
After the completion of Phase 2, the road will contribute to relieving traffic load on National Highway 47 and promoting the economic development of Sam Son and Thanh Hoa cities.
