This is the anchovy season, so every boat brings back 2-3 quintals of anchovy and earns millions of dong a day,” Mr. Khanh said.
According to Mr. Khanh, since the 4th day of Tet, he has gone offshore to catch fish 5 times, in which one trip earned over 2 million dong after deducting expenses.
After returning, bringing back nearly 2 quintals of dried anchovy, fisherman Dau Van Long (42 years old, from Dien Hai commune) said that the anchovy season begins from November 2023 to about February. Fresh anchovy is classified and bought right on the spot. Anchovy can also be dried or sold directly to factories.
